Torn earlobe is a quite frequent injury affecting people who wear large, heavy earrings, but it also affects children very often. Torn earlobe is difficult to hide drawback, especially for people with short hair. Regardless of whether the ear is torn slightly or completely, the best solution is a surgical reconstructive treatment performed by a plastic surgeon. This treatment is also dedicated to people who are suffering from stretched skin or decided to make ear tunnels. It is also possible to reconstruct the ear to a state before the piercing, i.e. the earlobe without a hole.
Ear reconstruction can be performed immediately or even within few years after the injury. The treatment is performed under local anesthesia. It is painless and relatively short – it lasts about 30 minutes. After the treatment, the ear looks normal and heals quickly. Small scars developed during reconstruction are quickly brighten and become invisible. The final effect is achieved approximately within 4-6 months after the treatment.
In the Dr Legrand Clinic the reconstruction of the earlobe is performed by a plastic surgeon with 20 years of experience, Dr. Agnieszka Budzyńska.
